Could you be a Foster Carer and really make a difference to a child or young person’s life?

The National Fostering Agency (NFA) is a major, independent and well established fostering agency with a strong presence throughout the Wales and the UK.

We are currently recruiting Foster Carers across Wales in particular Cardiff, Caerphilly, Swansea, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Newport.

As a Foster Carer you will be responsible for working in partnership with the National Fostering Agency to provide a safe, secure and nurturing family environment. Carers are required for children and young people aged between 0-18 from a variety of different backgrounds, including specialised placements such as Sibling Groups, teenage placements, individuals with special needs and also Parent & Child placements.

Our aim is to provide quality care and achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people entrusted to us.  We do so by working in partnership with our foster carers and our experienced and professional social workers.

As a foster carer you will need :

  • To have the time and energy to invest in a child or young person
  • You need to be flexible and non-judgmental, as well as patient and understanding
  • You will also need to have a minimum of one spare bedroom.
  • The main carer needs to be either at home full-time or be flexible with their working arrangements.

In return we will provide :

  • Ongoing support from our qualified and experience staff, including emergency out of hours support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Each approved carer is allocated their own Supervising Social Worker who will guide you through the fostering process.
  • Training and development opportunities in your local area including E-Learning.
  • Information sessions with other foster carers at support groups.
  • A generous weekly allowance (starting at £368 per week)
